Noor Muqadam case: Decision on bail application of accused’s parents reserved

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved its judgment on the bail pleas of Zahir Jaffer, accused in the murder of Noor Muqaddam.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday heard the bail pleas of accused Zakir Jaffer and Ismat Jaffer in the Noor Muqaddam murder case.
Petitioner’s counsel Shah Khawar took the position that under the Presidential Ordinance, the trial of Noor Muqadam case should be held in the Special Court on which Justice Amir Farooq said that the law is procedural, the period of the ordinance has now expired. The trial of the case is to be held not as a special court but as a session court.
The court asked the counsel for the petitioner, “What do you say that a one-time special court is a special court forever? Your arguments suggest that you want to delay the trial.”
Petitioner’s counsel Shah Khawar took the position that “it is definitely not my intention to delay the case.” ‘
Lawyer Shah Khawar said, “The main accused Zahir Jaffar was in constant touch with his parents on the day of the incident. The challan has been presented. The prosecution has produced 18 witnesses, three of whom are key witnesses. The trial will be completed soon.
Shah Khawar Advocate, citing court decisions, told the court that “the call data record is from July 18 to 20.”
The court inquired as to the approximate time of the murder, to which advocate Shah Khawar said, “It probably took place between 7.30 pm and 7.30 pm.” According to CCTV footage, Noor Muqaddam jumped at 6:35 and tried to save his life.
Justice Amir Farooq said, “It means that Noor Muqaddam was alive at that time.” The court again asked who reported the incident to the police and at what time, to which the public prosecutor said, Reported to police at 9:45 a.m. who arrived at the scene by 10 p.m.
He added that the therapy workers were present at the time.
Justice Amir Farooq asked what is the relationship between the therapists and the petitioners? On which the public prosecutor said that Zahir Jaffer’s mother has been working as a consultant for the therapy works.
The investigating officer told the court that the forensic report of the mobile phones is yet to come from the FIA. The FIA ​​has written a letter stating that the screen of the mobile phone of the main accused is broken.
According to the investigating officer, the security password of Noor Muqadam’s mobile phone is not being revealed. Justice Amir Farooq told the investigating officer, “Nowadays, there are many experts who can do everything. There are big hackers in the market.” Catch someone and open it. ‘
Initiating the counter arguments, Khawaja Harris said, “Incomplete interim challan has just been presented. Zakir Jaffer asked the therapy workers to reach home at 7:00 am.”
Islamabad High Court Justice Amir Farooq reserved judgment on completion of arguments.
It may be recalled that on the evening of July 20, 28-year-old Noor Muqadam of the former ambassador was strangled to death in Posh Sector F-7 of Islamabad and his case was registered in Kohsar police station.
